Doc in Vienna and the Academy awards

LOCAL ENTERTAINER HONORED BY REPEAT PERFORMANCE AND A REPEAT NOMINATION

What could be better for a magician than being invited to perform at the
creme de la creme of the magic world, the Ball of Magicians in Vienna,
Austria? Being invited back, of course.

That is what happened to long time local entertainer, Doc Eason. Still
riding the wave of euphoria from last year's gala event, Doc sent an e-mail
to the organizers of this year's Ball de Magier, wishing them well. Almost
immediately, he received a reply from the committee asking him if he would
consent to return. He, of course, jumped at the chance.

Eason has been the predominant fixture at the Tower Comedy Magic Bar for
over two decades. His nightly show has garnered him all sorts of honors,
but this one is a real feather for his cap. The Ball of Magicians (or
"Ball de Magier") in Austria is an annual affair now in its 25th year.
"Fasching Season" in Austria is roughly the equivalent of Carnival in
other parts of the world. Many different balls are held during this season,
the most notable of which is the Opernball, which is attended by many
political and social celebrities. Other occupations, such as physicians and
confectioners, also hold their own gala events, but the magician's ball is
special. Not all of Vienna's finest enjoy dancing. So this event has the
added sparkle of having the best magicians from all over the world
performing in various venues.

Eason performed his acclaimed close up magic in a setting not
unlike the intimate surroundings of the Tower Bar. This gave the Viennese
socialites the same show he performs every night in Snowmass.

While in Vienna, Doc received word that the Academy of Magical Arts and Sciences
in Hollywood has released its nominees and once again he was recognized as being
one of the top magicians in the country. For the second time in as many years, he
has been nominated as the Lecturer of the Year from the Magic Castle.

Widely recognized as the center of the magical world, The Magic Castle is a private
club for magicians tucked into the Hollywood Hills. It is a highly prestigious place
to work as only the best are invited to perform there. Doc has an open invitation to
perform there whenever his schedule allows.

Biography notes for
W. H. "DOC" EASON

In 1977, at age 30, William H. "Doc" Eason took a 2 week motorcycle vacation from his home in California and journeyed to Snowmass, Colorado to visit some old fraternity brother friends. This chance meeting changed the course of Doc’s life forever. The two week vacation turned into an incredible run of over 20 years. He never returned to California and to make a long story very short, Doc still has Bob’s old job as the magic bartender and featured entertainer at John Denver’s World Famous Tower Comedy Magic Bar and Restaurant.

His unique style of magic, his humorous repartee and the warm personal attention he pays to his customers are all reasons that many people return year after year, always bringing new friends to join in the fun. His remarkable memory enables him to remember faces, names and drinks from year to year.

Over the past several years, he has drawn on his experiences as a salesman and a magical entertainer and is speaking to corporate groups and associations on the "Therapy of Humor". His theme of "Put a Little Magic and Humor Back into Your Lives" has been enthusiastically received all over the US and in Canada and Mexico, as well.
