Vienna Beckons AgainThe 30th Annual Ball of Magicians was held on March 6, 2006, in the Hotel Wimberger in Vienna Austria. Magic stars from around the world entertained the cream of Viennese society bedecked in velvet and satin. Doc was one of three American performers invited to perform at this formal event. This is a return engagement for Doc. In 2000 and 2001, he was also one of the featured performers. The revelry started at 9 PM and he finally returned to his room at 6 AM after performing all through the night.
On the two nights following the ball, Doc was featured in two gala shows in the Metropol Theater in downtown Vienna. He took in some of the sights.
Doc is also shown in front of the Parliament building with his fellow American performers, Tina Lenert from Hollywood, and Ardan James of Las Vegas.

Doc Eason Named 2004 Bar Magician of the YearThe 37th Annual Academy of Magical Arts awards show celebrates the incredible talent performing within The Magic Castle located in Hollywood CA. The Academy's yearly awards show features the best of the best in the magic business for their performances in a venue known for demanding perfect skills, new effects, cutting-edge execution, and the polish expected from the top acts of any performing arts.
Doc Eason's win in the category of Best Bar Magician (a new category) put him up against several significant competitors who perform regularly in the historic WC Fields Magic Bar downstairs at The Magic Castle
Mr. Eason was instrumental in establishing the WC Fields bar located in the Inner Circle of The Magic Castle as a performing venue, mostly on the strength of his formidable credential of being the resident magician at the Tower Magic Bar in Snowmass Village, CO since 1977.
Doc quips, "I am honored and humbled by this award. It is always nice when your peers give you a pat on the back."

One of Snowmass Village's most recognizable faces has been recognized on a national scale for his magical talents, wit and ability to work a crowd. Bill "Doc" Eason, who spent almost three decades behind the magic bar at the Tower Restaurant in Snowmass, was given the first-ever Bar Magician of the Year award from the Hollywood Academy of Magical Arts this month.
The Academy of Magical Arts is housed in the Magic Castle, a private magic club in Los Angeles. The academy has been giving out awards to stage, parlor and close-up magicians for 37 years, but it wasn't until Eason turned the castle's bar area into a bona fide magic bar that it considered awarding a bar magician award each year.
And after turning an everyday bar into one where a magician makes cards or napkins appear and disappear while drinks are served, Eason received the first award.
"Ventura Foods LLC was pleased to have Doc Eason attend, perform, and speak at our National Sales Meeting in April 2005. Doc went beyond the call of duty by arriving early and working with us to blend himself into our meeting. He not only did his awesome magic, but also helped us further detail our event. We ended up using doc as a speaker, motivator, and transition man in our meeting. We built our meeting on an Old West theme, and Doc worked well within our theme, not only in costume, but in his approach when we put him on stage. His act is one thing, but the way he works with groups of people is world class. By the end of our meeting, Doc had 160 new friends.
"I guarantee that we will use Doc in not only our next National Meeting, but in any other event I can wiggle him into! The bottom line is that if you want an entertainer who not only provides a world class act, but does everything within his power to integrate into your meeting, then Doc Eason is a wonderful choice."
