The Impossible Opener Version 2.0 This
upgraded version contains instructions made clearer with Earle Oakes
illustrations plus a bonus routine that doesn't require a table and
allows you to do this wonderful routine while strolling. This
acclaimed routine leads 'em down the garden path and then you turn the
hose on them! I open every set of card tricks with this trick. One red
backed prediction card is shown. From a blue deck, a spectator freely
selects any card. The two cards miraculously match (for example, the
9S). Here is the garden path when it begins to dawn on them that all
the cards must be the same, you show them that they are all the same
the KD! They will howl with laughter! This is a great crowd pleaser
that not only fools but has great entertainment value. And if that
isn't enough, included at no extra charge is The Upgraded Comedy Card
ID kit, a $2.00 value from the minds at Presto Magic. It is the
perfect segue into the next trick with a real deck. These labels are
guaranteed chuckles.
(Labels available for $2.00 if purchased separately.)
Anniversary Waltz This
has been called the most commercial card trick ever devised. The first
time I performed this for a honeymoon couple I saw the strength of
this delightful "card trick for lovers." Here's exactly what they see.
The bride selects and signs a card. It is clearly seen outjogged in
half of the deck. From the other half, the spouse selects and signs
his card. It is then outjogged from this half. Very cleanly, the deck
is reassembled. Now, with no false moves, the deck is spread and his
card is seen to be the only face up card in the deck. Miracle # 1.
Then her card turns face up in the deck. Miracle #2. Then the cards
come together in the deck. Miracle #3. Then the capper, the two cards
are put into her hand and he rests his hand on hers and the power of
their love fuses the two cards together into one card, signed on both
sides! This astounding trick leaves the couple with a unique souvenir
that they will never forget. A bar/restaurant worker's dream. Includes
two methods and, of course, the necessary cards.
Replacement decks are $7.00 ppd
Aces in
your Faces Another
product that has been out of production for a while... Aces in your
Faces by Bob Kohler. This is one of the most diabolical secrets in
card magic. Bob kept this to himself and a small circle of friends for
years, all the while performing at countless trade shows and
perfecting the handling. This is moveless magic at its best. The
performer barely handles the cards and yet the aces assemble. Even
more astounding is the fact that someone from the audience decides the
final outcome after the cards are already in position! Hard to
believe but this routine is entirely self working and resets
instantly. This utilizes Burling Hull's gimmick called the Ghost Card.
Both the experienced sleight of hand artist and the newcomer will
instantly be able to perform "Aces in your Faces" and will rejoice in
the clean "shows" of the backs of four cards and four faces
simultaneously. Once you have mastered the basic routine, Bob goes on
to teach you the next level. This twists your audience's mind into
even more intense, contortions. This is an equivoque that is
completely diabolical, so that no matter what the spectator says, you
have your bases covered. Wonderful.
Doc
Dixon's Extra Extra Read All About It! Here is
another gem from a worker and this *is* a worker. A card is selected
and when the performer tries to reveal it, it turns out that they have
selected the Guarantee Card! Undaunted, the performer presses
forward and has them think of one of the 100 words on the card... You
then successfully bring this to a close by revealing the thought of
word. This is a wonderful recovery from an apparent screw-up. Great!
The routine is well thought out and comes with a beautiful red, poker,
Bicycle card. Highly recommended and the price is right.
King
Arthur's Pub Several
years ago, Ton Onosaka produced Bicycle Built for Five. I immediately
bought a set of these wonderful special cards. They look like regular
Bike stock Jokers but eventually they all get off their bicycles and
all the kings show up on one bicycle. Very clever and cute. But the
routine that came with it was full of different counts and frankly it
was hard to remember what card went where and when. In a session with
Scotty York, the fixer, he showed me a much easier way to do the
trick, using just an Elmsley count. I put my patter together with it
and voila! here is a trick that really tickles an audience. It comes
with the set of cards, my patter using Scotty's routine. It
needs a Himber wallet.
So check your drawer and see if you have one there. I sometimes carry
some very nice Himber type wallets so check with me..
Mighty
Silver Bulldog This
routine is designed for table hopping. In the early days of the
Brookfarm Inn of Magic in Washington, Allan wore a chain around his
neck and, unbeknownst to the audience, it held a familiar bulldog
clip. With hilarious byplay, a selected card shows up in various
pockets and then under impossible conditions, it shows up folded in
the "mighty Bulldog clip". This never failed to slay the audience.
This booklet comes with two card routines, one easy and one for the
more skilled, and a fully routined burned and restored bill that will
have your audiences rolling with laughter. You supply the clip
(available in any stationery store) and a deck of cards and you're on
your way to a really fun piece of entertainment.
Monkey in the Middle I was
stunned when I first saw this. Now I stun the bar crowds everytime I
do it. The instant sandwich is so visual that it rocks them back on
their heels. Here's what happens. A card is selected, signed, and put
back into the deck. The spectator puts two cards from another deck
with contrasting backs on top of the deck and INSTANTLY the signed
card appears between them. Like all of Goldman's stuff, easy to do but
the effect is very strong on the audience. This is a great one to do
if there is another magician in the crowd. The sound of his jaw
dropping is especially rewarding.
Chad Long's Now Look Here!
A magical treasure hunt A selected
card is lost in the deck. You now attempt to find it by turning over
the top card. Rather than the selected card, you find instructions
that direct you to look in your pocket. When the card in your pocket
is examined, it tells you to look on the table. When the card on the
table is examined, it is the selection. This item has fooled and
amused some of the best minds in magic. It comes two bonus routines.
One requires no sleight of hand and the other comes from the fertile
mind of Scotty York and is now my favorite way of performing this
wonderful magical treasure hunt. Available in red or blue backs.
Replacement Cards for the Poker demonstration
I am no longer able to supply the Revolutionary Routines with Aces,
but I have found a source for the gaff cards that make it work. They
are available in red or blue backs
Revolutionary Routines / Ackerman tape I
have been unable to get Scotty York's Revolutionary Routines with Aces
for some time...it is a long story...but for those of you who have my
tapes, and understand the handling, I am now offering the replacement
cards at $8.00. If you want to study this a bit more, I have just
discovered a great value. Allan Ackerman/Bro John Hamman video that
includes the Final Four Ace routine which uses the same special
cards...plus three other Bro John Hamman effects...and the necessary
cards...If you are familiar with Bro John's work, you know how strong
it is. Allan Ackerman does a superb job of teaching these effects. A
great deal at $32.
Side Swiped by Simon Aronson
Those of you who know me are aware of how important it is to give
stuff away with your name on it and this is a great example of an
impossibility that you hand out to a spectator that they will
remember! "It's probably the strongest combination of baffling, visual
and commercial magic that I've ever created. It's one of my absolute
favorite effects for laymen." - Simon Aronson The Effect: You display
both sides of a small printed Instruction Card for "The World's
Greatest Card Trick" which you just received in today's mail and offer
to try it out with the spectator's help. As you read off each step,
the spectator follows the instruction. The instructions guide the
spectator to select a playing card from a shuffled deck, sign its
face, replace it in the deck and finally wrap the deck up in rubber
bands, "magician-proofing" the pack. The spectator's signed selection
remains in full view the entire time until it's cleanly buried in the
deck. The spectator wraps the deck herself and then drops it into your
jacket pocket. The final instruction is then read, but it simply says
"magically produce the card." Undaunted, you make a magical gestured
over the Instruction Card-which you've been holding in plain view
since the very beginning of the trick and when you turn it around, the
other side is shown to have magically changed into the spectator's
selected card, complete with their signature! The Instruction Card is
immediately given to the spectator to keep as a souvenir. It's an
"impossible object" which she'll keep forever, a personalized memento
of the time she witnessed "The World's Greatest Card Trick." *
Memorable, humorous and totally baffling * Easy to do (only one
sleight required!) * Leaves the spectator with a permanent,
personalized, impossible object Side-Swiped comes with a detailed,
29-page booklet, fully illustrated by Tony Dunn which includes Simon's
professional presentation and additional comments and variations along
with enough cards specially printed by the US Playing Card Co. for 12
performances. Refills Also Available Need more of the Side-Swiped
cards? Refill packs are available which contain enough of the
specially printed cards for 10 performances.
