Here is one of my favorite tricks! It's the old
"2 in the hand, 1 in the pocket" trick with props that have built-in comedy
appeal. I always have it with me when I perform. This upgraded version also
features a routine from the lost files of Larry West.
In my lectures, I mention that the larger the
hardware, the funnier it is but that you might want to think twice about how
much weight you want to devote to this little quickie...
I have obtained some very large ALUMINUM 7/8"
nuts and bolts... these things are huge but very light weight... they weigh
just about as much as a 3/8 set does in stainless steel.
I have people tell me that this is their
favorite trick to do and I have to agree. It is a great laugh getter...
Readers of this
catalog know how I feel about Mike Close.
He is a worker like me and whatever he puts out you can be assured that it has
been worked out to the nth degree. This item is no exception. I started doing
this trick as soon as it appeared in the Workers series. The cards have been
reprinted and are available again. Here's what happens...You start by showing
nine cards to be blank on both sides. After laying them out in a 3 by 3 pattern
you then talk about cloning and introduce a clown card.
Suddenly the cloning experiment goes haywire and clowns start appearing on the
blank cards at a startling rate! The action is so visual and compelling to watch
that when the spectator finally recovers from the fever pitched action, and
looks up at you, they see a clown nose on you!
Apparently the cloning thing has really run amok! If you know my material, then
you know how much this resembles the card under the glass. Something happens
without the spectator being aware of it, in this case the appearance of the
clown nose on your face! I LOVE this trick. It comes with those all important
special cards, a special wallet and a clown nose...
Great entertainment value! Not difficult to perform and it resets easy! Try this
one you will love it!
This is a trick
that I have been doing for years. It is a great walkaround trick and it really
gets them rubbing their eyes in disbelief. It is a simple yet baffling trick
that has a wonderful kicker to it. Just five cards to carry and it has
tremendous audience appeal. One by one four of a kind turn face down in a most
visual fashion. Then the backs change color and then the backs turn into
miniature eye charts. This is a real crowd pleaser.
This is a bar
magician's dream routine! Put a bottle cap into a bottle, take it out, pass it
around for examination and then put it back into the bottle. At this point, all
is examinable and you can give the bottle away with the cap inside as a
souvenir! What a reputation maker! Eric Mead and I have developed some wonderful
new moves that make this a killer. You get this Rocky Mountain Magic Routine
with the gimmick.
You can practice this immediately if you purchase the bottle with a cap already
in it and all the necessary stuff for...

II just did this for my daughter
and she flipped out!. so will your audiences. Here is what happens... * An
opened, emptied and crushed soda can slowly restores itself, making noises as
all the dents disappear. *You heal the hole in top so that the can is once
again Healed and Sealed. * Then OPEN the can with a pfzzzt! And the original
soda is poured into a glass. *One normal can is used - no switches. Easy to
do.
Picture this...you display an
envelope with change in it. Then ask two different spectators for any number
between one and nine. Say the first says, 3 and the second, says 8. Those two
numbers make up 38. You then dump the contents of the envelope into their hand
and have them count it. They tell you that there is only 36 cents there and at
that point you pull out the only other thing in the envelope: an IOU for 2
cents! The first time I did this the crowd screamed! I love it.
Mental Yarn From the Bill Goldman Collection of Magic
$10.00
Bill did this for
me and without asking any questions, he was able to tell me what I was thinking.
The effect on me was staggering. I had no clue. It left me laughing and
bewildered. I do it all the time these days for my clients and it gets a great
reaction. I have the script on my computer so that I can access it immediately
and I can perform it whenever I talk to clients. This may be a small package but
it packs a lot of wallop in audience reaction.
Out to Lunch Clip An elegant answer to the ugly rubber bands.
$15.00
The Out to Lunch
principle is an ingenious method of switching one card for another without
detection under close scrutiny. Its origins go back 150 years. The traditional
method has a rubber band around the cards that hide a half card. It is a
beautiful principle that has many applications. For those of us who occasionally
work an upscale crowd, the rubber band seems very...well, inelegant, for lack of
a better term. So a few years ago, Greg Wilson came out with the Stockholder
wallet. This was a beautiful leather item with a band that accomplished the same
purpose as the rubber band. At first, this looked like a solution to the
"elegance" question. But no one I know carries a wallet like this, gimmicked or
not, for business cards. So it turned out to be a kind of "magic proppy" looking
thing. Well, Rocky Mountain Magic has devised a simple, but elegant, stainless
steel clip that holds about 6 business cards. This doesn't look like a prop, it
looks like what it is...a simple clip that holds a few business cards together.
It is a totally innocent looking thing that accomplishes the out to lunch
principle perfectly without looking "proppy". This simple prop is available for
$15. It doesn't come with instructions. It is assumed that anyone ordering knows
what to do with it. The best thing about the Stockholder was the accompanying
book that came with it. This book has ideas using the principle that were
contributed by some of the greatest minds in magic, Mike Close, Paul Harris, Roy
Johnson, Michael Weber, Daryl, Dan Harlan, and others. The good news is that I
have unearthed a small supply of these books...they are $25. If you want the
clip, too, the price for both is $40

When it comes to
mind-reading, I always play it for laughs. This routine is no exception. Here is
an item that I have used for years at the bar. A two-phase, tongue-in-cheek,
comedy ESP trick that employs two people but has enough appeal to captivate the
entire audience. This can work effectively table:side for two people or for a
bar full of people. I have even done this on stage using two people from the
audience and it get great laughs while it amazes. It is easy to do so you can
focus on the presentation. Packs small and plays big, you get all the lines and
presentational tips, the special 2" crystal ball (well, okay, it's plexiglass)
and velvet carrying sackŠ
